Our reason

Why we built Dawarna

Renting or buying in Amman means piecing together answers from classified sites, social media groups and word of mouth. Prices are quoted per year, fees are shared in ways nobody explains, and the rules for foreign buyers have changed more than once. Little of it is written in clear English with sources.

Dawarna puts the answers in one place: what rent and prices look like in each neighbourhood, which area suits you, and how the process works, with the sources named so you can check us. When homes are listed, they will sit beside the data that helps you judge them.

Principles

How we work

Name every source

Each price, fee or rule shows where it comes from and when. Official sources such as the Department of Lands and Survey and the Ministry of Interior take priority.

Say what it is

Our prices are asking prices from listings, not sales or signed leases, and the page says so.

Show the sample

We publish a median only when at least eight listings support it, and we publish how many sit behind each area.

Admit gaps

Where we lack data, for example outer districts or price trends, we say so instead of guessing.

What the name means

Dawar is the word Jordanians use for a traffic circle, and Amman is built around them: the 1st to the 8th Circle run west along the Zahran Street route, and addresses are often given by the nearest circle. Add the Arabic ending -na, meaning our, and you get dawarna: our circle. The logo is eight circles with one picked out in clay, the circle you choose to live on. Amman's circles, explained →
