How Amman is organised: districts, hills and circles
Amman grew over seven hills, or jabals, and Jabal Amman is one of the original seven. Today it is the capital and largest city of Jordan, divided into 22 districts by the Greater Amman Municipality. Western neighbourhoods are laid out along numbered roundabouts, the circles, which locals use as address markers. Sources: Wikipedia: Amman, Jabal Amman, Wadi Al-Seer.
