Breaking it down

What each cost is

  • Rent in advance
How much you pay at signing depends on the schedule you agree: the sample Amman lease we reviewed has rent due monthly in advance, while landlords may ask for several months or a year up front.
  • Security deposit
Jordan's tenancy law sets no cap or refund rule for deposits; one to three months of rent is customary, and deductions need evidence.
  • Agent commission
Licensed real estate offices may charge up to 2% of the annual rent, shared between the parties or paid by either, under the regulation we reviewed.
  • Utilities and internet
Numbeo puts basic utilities for an 85 m² flat at about JD 91 a month and internet at about JD 22.74.
  • Furnishing and moving
No data of ours covers these, so the calculator starts them at zero. Enter your own quotes.
  • Property tax and service charges
Check the contract: the sample lease we reviewed makes the tenant pay property tax, guard and cleaning charges.
